2011 Loose Feather's Club from Blackbird Designs
There will be three patterns released in this year's program. The first one, featuring strawberries and birds, will be released in July with the others being released in September and November. Each booklet will include one main piece and 2 small bonus pieces. The main pieces can be stitched individually or together to make a longer piece. When stitched together, the design size is approximately 9" x 15" (when stitched on 30ct. R&R Reproductions Irish Cream Linen). Be the first to receive your patterns, let the shop know you are interested and they will hold the patterns for you as they arrive.
The picture above illustartes one of the bonus charts in the first booklet. |
Coming very soon from With Thy Needle and Thread:
"Sampler of the Season - Autumn".....this chart has just been released and should be in the shop soon!
"Sampler of the Season - Winter".....will be released on the first day of fall! This pattern will make you think of a Christmas tree farm, horse drawn sleigh rides, snowmen and ice skating.
All the finished samplers in this four chart series will be similar in size therefore, you can change out one frame with a new sampler for each season.
"Blooms and Berries" is a new pattern featuring 4 little sewing companions and should also be in the shop soon! The first companion is a bird pinkeep mounted on an antique spool. The second is a late 19th century antique reproduction sewing caddy. The third is a cross stitched pincushion with hand dyed rick rack ruching and the fourth is a little pin/scissor/needle keep.

It's Back........Hardanger Embroidery
Not that it ever went anywhere, but we now have someone who can teach it again.
Hardanger Embroidery originated in Norway and is traditionally done white on white (tone on tone) on 22 count even weave fabric. It is used to embellish table linens and other home furnishings. Hardanger is made up of simple and easy to learn stitches to accomplish beautiful intricate designs. Many cross stitch designers incorporate it into their designs.
Please join us at The Stitch and Frame Shop to learn the beginning steps of Hardanger Embroidery. You will be introduced to the basics by learning how to do kloster blocks, cutting, needle weaving and dove's eye.
Come by the shop and view our Hardanger display and let us know if you are interested in learning this simple embroidery.
Martha Boyd, our instructor, will schedule classes and in shop demos. Please check the website for days and times.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!
