New Christmas designs are here and more are coming!

Yes, you read the title correctly. The shop has received (or will be receiving soon) some new Christmas designs. I know it is getting a little late to be stitching something for this Christmas (it is only 23 days away) but it is not too early to think about next year. Now is a great time to start your stitching for Christmas 2012. I found a wonderful new project that I would like to do even though it will not be finished this year. The project will be shown later in the blog but for now, check out some of the new designs listed below. They are just great!

Something a little different?......take a look at The Drawn Thread

Book of Days

This was designed as a desk diary cover to fit
Exaclair's Quo Vadis Note 27 planner refill.
I, however, think it would also make a beautifully framed piece.

Any Lizzie Kate stitchers out there?......She has several new patterns being released in December. Pictures are not available right now, but I do have some descriptions.
  • Faith Inspiration Boxer - This kit has the same "vintage" look as the other Inspiration Boxers and includes 32ct. Lambswool linen, olive colored buttons and the pattern. A bonus design is also included ( fabric is not included for the bonus design).
  • Flora McSample's 2011 Christmas Ornaments - A set of 3 quick to stitch ornaments using classic holiday colors and motifs.
  • A Good Marriage - Done in the same style of the ABC kits, this design includes the pattern and threads (you provide the fabric) and is full of common sense wisdom.

Anyone looking for another part to a series that they have started?.....Well, Bent Creek, Samsarah Design Studio and With Thy Needle have all added new designs.

This is such a beautiful mini stocking. The finished size is 3" x 6 1/2".

Christmas Garden from Blackbird Designs

This is a 12 page booklet which features 3 designs. A "Christmas Garden" is the main design and is a large dramatic sampler with a vintage feel. Two other projects are also included: a small travel bag and a small gift box.

FINALLY....the Christmas project that I want to stitch is from Bent Creek called "Wintery Snowglobe Mantle". I know they have done other mantle series before but this one just really appealed to me. I think it is the snowglobes. Anyway, my plan is to start it this weekend. Snow Snow Snow is the first part in the series and contains 18ct. Natural linen (enough for the entire piece), overdyed fibers, DMC floss, beads, buttons and needle. Parts two and three will include patterns, fibers and any embellishments.

Holiday Happenings

On Saturday December 10, 2011, Sharon Crescent from Crescent Colours will be stopping by for a quick visit so come by and say "hi". Martha Boyd will also be here doing Hardanger demonstrations.

The Stitch and Frame Shop will be having an Open House on Sunday December 11, 2011 from 1:00pm till 4:00pm. This will be a fun time to come by the store and see all the wonderful new things. A special appreciation gift will be given out and refreshments will be served.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. I plan to decorate my Christmas tree and stitch but not necessarily in that order.
